ABOUT MACY
Director of In Cahoots Residency, Macy Chadwick, is a professional artist with 25 years of experience in printmaking, letterpress and book arts. She is a natural collaborator who loves working with people, helping them turn their creative ideas into tangible works of art. Known for being friendly and warm, Macy strives to make people feel welcome and supported in their creative pursuits. Artists who are interested in learning from Macy can sign up for mentorship or instructional hours.

Macy received an MFA in Book Arts and Printmaking from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and assisted book artist Julie Chen at Flying Fish Press in Berkeley for three years. After fifteen years of teaching at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco Art Institute, and San Francisco Center for the Book, Macy decided to pursue her dream of directing a residency and founded In Cahoots Residency in 2019. This dream combines her passions of working alongside other artists, hosting people in a creative space, and collaboration. Along with directing the residency, Macy continues to create artists books and limited edition prints in her separate art studio which is onsite at the residency. Her work is widely collected and is in prominent collections in the U.S. and abroad, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, Yale University Special Collections, and the Jack Ginsberg Collection in South Africa.
