    PLEASE NOTE: The residency is currently fully booked for 2020 and 2021.
    There are no grant applications being considered at this time.

    The regular and grant applications for 2022 will be available April 25 for the June 1, 2021 deadline.

    You may fill out this application to be considered for the waiting list for a regular (paid) session in 2020-2021, or to apply for an announced opening/cancellation (posted on Instagram or the website.). Otherwise, to apply for 2022, please wait until the next application period opens on April 25, 2021.

    In Cahoots Residency is designed for people who have prior experience in art and/or writing. A portfolio of 8-10 images of artwork (or 3 writing samples) is required for the application. You must be 18 years or older to apply. With a focus on community and inclusion, we welcome adult artists of all ethnicities, religions, ages, physical abilities, gender, financial status and educational backgrounds. For artists who choose to apply as a collaborative team, each artist should complete a separate entry form with all required information, and make a clear note on the application that you are applying as a team.

    Applications are accepted twice a year: June 1 and October 1. Applications open 5 weeks before the deadline.
    June 1 deadline: for residencies taking place from January to June of 2022. Application period is April 25- June 1, 2021.
    October 1 deadline: for residencies taking place from July to December of 2022. Application period is August 25-October 1, 2021.
    Notification of acceptance/denial will be sent out 4-6 weeks after the deadline.

    There is a $25 application fee, payable upon completion of the form.

    Outside of the application periods listed above, applications are accepted on a rolling basis to be considered for the waiting list for a regular (paid) session in 2020-21, or to apply for an announced opening/cancellation (posted on Instagram or the website). Applications are closed June 1- July 1 and October 1- November 1 for jurying. Artists applying on a rolling basis will be notified of acceptance/denial within 2-4 weeks of their application. The residency calendar will be updated to show any available dates, and you are encouraged to email the residency to confirm these dates before sending in an application.

    Notes on deposit and payments: If accepted, a 200 dollar holding deposit is due at the time of confirmation to hold your dates. If you choose to cancel or switch your residency session, this deposit will be forfeited. Upon arrival at In Cahoots Residency, this deposit will act as your security deposit and will be returned to you at the end of your residency stay, minus any damages. Your residency fee will be due 60 days before your residency start date.
