    Hello and thank you for your interest in In Cahoots Residency! We look forward to reviewing your application.

    In Cahoots Residency is designed for people who have prior experience in art. A portfolio of 8-10 images of artwork (or 3 writing samples) is required for the application. You must be 18 years or older to apply. With a focus on community and inclusion, we welcome adult artists of all ethnicities, religions, ages, physical abilities, gender, financial status and educational backgrounds. For artists who choose to apply as a collaborative team, each artist should complete a separate entry form with all required information, and make a clear note on the application that you are applying as a team. At this time, we do not allow spouses, pets and children to attend with artist residents. Our programming may include specific dates for family sessions in the future.

    This is the application form to apply for one of the 3 full residency grants available in 2019. There is one grant awarded for each session length: 1-week, 2-weeks, and 4-weeks. You must hold a BFA or equivalent to apply. There is a separate application process, due October 25. Applicants only need to fill out one application form. Those who are not awarded grants will automatically be considered for a non-grant residency.

    The Full Grant Residency is designed for artists for whom this residency experience would otherwise be out of reach financially. We especially welcome applications from emerging artists and writers with less than 10 years of experience in the field, recent students, those who are returning to art after another career, and adjunct teachers.

    Applications are open September 1 through October 25, annually. The deadline for priority choice of dates in the following calendar year is October 25. After this deadline, applications will be considered on a rolling basis for any remaining spots. For rolling admissions, please look at the residency calendar on the website to confirm available dates before applying.

    Notifications of acceptance/denial for both the regular and grant applications will be sent out by November 20. Or, within 2 weeks of the application for rolling admissions for those who apply after October 25.

    Fees: There is a $20 application fee, payable upon completion of the form.
    Notes on deposit: If accepted, a 200 dollar deposit is due at the time of confirmation to hold your dates. This will act as your security deposit and will be returned to you at the end of your residency stay. Your application will automatically be considered for the regular application if you are not awarded a grant.
