About this print:
Corita Kent, an influential artist and educator, developed a set of rules for her students that serve both as guidelines for artistic practice and as a broader philosophy of life. Her rules promote playful experimentation, open-mindedness, and the pursuit of beauty and truth. This project is inspired by Kent’s renowned Art Department Rules, which celebrate creativity, innovation, and community.
For this print exchange, Black Rock Press invited ten artists to create prints inspired by these rules, capturing the essence of Kent’s approach to exploration and expression. Each print reflects the spirit of her teachings, embracing her insights into art and life.
