In Cahoots Residency is located in the countryside, 5 miles outside historic downtown Petaluma. In Cahoots is on a 3.8 acre property with wide open fields, visiting horses, lovely gardens of flowers and vegetables, light-filled studios, quaint guest cottages, and even a spontaneous frog pond that appears after a spring rain. Artist residents can get lost in their work, then look up to see a wild turkey alight in a row of redwood trees, hear a distant rooster call, and feel the crisp breeze from the Pacific on a warm sunny day.

The culture and arts of San Francisco are just 1-hour away by car or bus, the Pacific coast is 15 miles away, and the charming vineyards of Sonoma are 30 minutes to the east. In Cahoots Residency is nestled among farms on the west side of Petaluma, with views of Sonoma Mountain to the east, and flowering plants and trees edging the golden fields to the south. There is an organic garden on the property where residents are welcome to harvest in-season vegetables for their dinners.

The weather in Petaluma is mild year-round. Ocean breezes cool a warm summer afternoon, and rains bring lush green in the springtime. Petaluma enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate. The dry summer is characterized by typically warm days and cool nights. Summer mornings often start out foggy and chilly, but the fog usually clears by midday or so, giving way to clear skies and warmth for the remainder of the day. August is usually the warmest month, with average daily temperatures ranging from 53 to 82 °F. December is usually the coldest month, with daily temperatures ranging from 39 to 57 °F. Winter is cool and rainy, with frost occasionally occurring on clear nights.

Transportation: Driving- located just 2.5 miles from highway 101, one hour north of San Francisco. Recommended airports- San Francisco SFO or Oakland OAK (1 hour away with Airport Express shuttle to Petaluma) Other airports- Santa Rosa STS (30 minutes away).
